Born in Toronto and bred in New York City, North Carolina, the UK, and Miami, Tristan Clopet's musical range is as wide as the distance between the places ("Consequence of Sound.")

Clopet (pronounced Clo-pay) scored his first major project in 2017 for Sony Pictures Television’s StartUp, created by Ben Ketai and starring Martin Freeman, Ron Perlman, Adam Brody, Mira Sorvino, and Edi Gathegi. In 2020, Netflix licensed all three seasons and it quickly became the streamer’s #1 acquired series around the world.

Most recently, he scored the Universal Studios feature film River Wild, for which he earned an HMMA nomination.

Other filmography includes The Infiltrator, starring Bryan Cranston, City of Lies, starring Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker, Sundance Film Festival winner Crown Heights, starring LaKeith Stanfield, AMC’s Pantheon, with Brandon Roberts, Marco Beltrami, and Buck Sanders, and CBS’s military procedural The Code.

Performing live, Clopet has shared the stage with X Ambassadors, Billy Bragg, Tove Lo, Glen Hansard, and The Weeknd. He’s also currently orchestrating the stage version of Bad News Bears for Paramount Studio’s Live Theater division and Kamala Films.

Clopet studied at The University of Miami, NYU's Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, and Berklee College of Music, is a proud member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the Society of Composers and Lyricists, and he lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Tracy, and their son.
